USS Abraham Lincoln hosts VIP reception near Pattaya Thailand


VIP Reception on the USS Abraham Lincoln



For the first time in two years an aircraft carrier has arrived in Pattaya.

The USS Abraham Lincoln came to Laem Chabang Deep Water Port on Friday morning of the 12th September, with a crew of more than 5,000 sailors.  During the evening the Naval Attaches Office in the American Embassy organized a VIP party on board hosted by Rear Admiral Scott Van Buskirk, Commander of the Carrier Strike Group Nine.

Many dignitaries attended included the Commissioner of Provincial Police, Region 2, Police Lieutenant General Therayout Kitivat, Pattaya Mayor Ittipol Khunplume,
Pattaya Police Chiefs and many military attaches from various countries, diplomats, high ranking members of the Royal Thai Navy and local business leaders. The ship’s personnel provided delicious food for all the visitors and special tours was arranged for everyone to experience at first hand this impressive war machine.
