Thai Police Using Used Cooking Oil As Fuel

Police in Thailand are using used cooking oil to power their vehicles as they seek cheaper and environmentally friendly fuel amid soaring oil prices.

High oil prices have hit the police budget hard, forcing them to seek alternative sources such as biodiesel, which is made from old cooking oil donated by hotels, fast food shops and even shrines. Out of the Thai capital’s 88 police stations eight have adopted the project.
