According to a new survey by Visa, Thailand is the most popular Asian travel destination for Aussies, AAP has reported. The Visa survey attracted 5050 respondents from 10 different countries.
Close to 51 percent of Australian respondents said that they were ‘very likely’ to travel to Asia in the next two years and named Thailand as their top destination, ahead of Hong Kong, China and Japan.
Around 12 per cent of Australian respondents said that they were likely to travel to Beijing next year for the Olympics. At the same time, the survey found that one in five Australians did not know that Beijing was the host of the 2008 Olympic Games.
Compared to other nationalities, it was also found that Australians were the most likely to travel alone.
